I know of one way you can talk with your friends or relatives who stay far away free of charge. What you need is to download skype.exe, a software by the company with the same name to enable you to speak to your pals provided he or she also has installed skype software. With a microphone and a speaker attached to your computer, you can start communicating with others using voice.
I just tried it and it worked. Any one interested can go to skype website to download the software.
